We are pleased to announce that the 14th International Symposium on Vocational Schools (UMYOS 2026) will be held on 19–21 May 2026, hosted by International University of Sarajevo (IUS) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. 
Organized since 2001, UMYOS is a well-established and reputable international academic platform that brings together academics, researchers, practitioners, and students working in the field of vocational and technical higher education. The symposium aims to discuss current challenges of vocational schools, share good practices, and strengthen national and international academic cooperation. 
UMYOS 2026 will be organized in a hybrid format, offering both on-site and online participation, enabling broad international access and active involvement. 
Paper Submission Process 
The paper submission process for UMYOS 2026 is as follows: 
Abstract Submission Deadline: 10 March 2026 
Abstract Acceptance Notification: 15 March 2026 
Final Acceptance & Program Announcement: 01 May 2026 
Full Paper Submission Deadline: 31 May 2026 (After the Symposium) 
Registration Fee Payment Deadlines: 
     Early Registration: 17 March 2026 
     Late Registration: 17 April 2026 
All abstracts will be evaluated through a double-blind peer review process. Submission of full papers is mandatory for accepted abstracts. 

Publication Opportunities 
Accepted full papers will be published in the UMYOS 2026 Proceedings Book with ISBN. 
Upon authors’ preference, full papers may also be published as book chapters by Platanus Publishing House, which holds the status of a recognized international publisher. 
Selected high-quality papers will be invited for publication in peer-reviewed national and/or international journals as special issues after the symposium. 
Collaborations have been established with TR Index and SCI-indexed journals, and negotiations with Springer Publishing are ongoing. 
All publication processes will be conducted in accordance with academic ethics and international peer-review standards.

Student Projects and Interactive Sessions 
In addition to academic papers, UMYOS 2026 will include: 
     TÜBİTAK 2209-A student project presentations, 
     Applied sessions on peer evaluation and quality assurance, 
     Workshops and good practice sharing sessions, 
     Poster presentations, 
offering participants a rich academic and practical experience. 

Exhibition and Exhibition Themes (UMYOS 2026) 
UMYOS 2026 will also host individual and thematic exhibitions. 
The main exhibition theme is: 
     “War, Peace, and Humanity” 
Within this theme, the symposium will include: 
     Individual exhibitions, 
     Digital exhibitions, 
     Student project outputs, 
     Posters, visual narratives, and graphic works. 
The theme will be addressed from a humanitarian, educational, and universal perspective, in harmony with the historical memory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
